Unfinished old Yugioh fic from years ago. Posting it here just because... well, just because. It was inspired by the first Pirate of the Caribbean movie... yeah, it's been a while since I wrote this, as I said. xD (Oh, it's also partially inspired by Neko-chan's Yami no Malik fics. Especially the prologue.)
Don't expect this to be updated.

Water Children, ch. 5

Thu, 27 Feb 2014 22:04:33 GMT

Here it is, finally: the last chapter. I'm sorry about the wait. Although I did know what's going to happen from the beginning, I somehow ran into a huge writer's block with this chapter. Luckily once I got over it the rest of the fic pretty much wrote itself.

Water Children chapters 3 to 4

Wed, 29 Jan 2014 19:17:03 GMT

I'm not quite sure how it happened, but somehow it did happen that I stopped posting the Water Children fic here. I wasn't going to - but I guess I forgot to post one chapter, and then couldn't yet post the next, and... so on? Well, anyway, as I started posting this fic here too, I'll add the next chapter s here now.

I was going to put these here too, but somehow forgot. Too many places to posts fics? maybe.

Five Hikaru no go/Blade of the Immortal ficlets, written for flonnebonne for guessing me at Blind Go.

Hikago fic: Water Children

Mon, 30 Sep 2013 13:44:53 GMT

This was my fic for blind_go round 14. It'll yet be continued.

Summary: Once, in the Heian times, a strange child was born, one who never quite belonged to the world of men. There were two things to hold him back - his mother, and go. Even they could not give him a long, happy life... but a thousand years later he would change the life of another boy. Fairytalesque AU.

Characters: This first chapter, Sai and Sai's parents. Hikaru and Akira in the coming chapters.

Crossing the Bridge of Dreams, last chapter

Wed, 10 Jul 2013 17:28:47 GMT

I imagined I'd be able to upload this final chapter sooner - it's short, and uses parts of the sequel (ch. 10) so there wasn't that much to write. But it took its time... maybe partly because it wasn't a happy chapter to write.

A/N: This was quite a long one - probably could have been compressed a bit, at times (though in a way I'm disappointed it didn't reach 100k...) but of course, there's still the sequel, so I can't really say this'd be over yet. The sequel can be found here.

Leaving you with a poem from the late Heian/early Kamakura period, by Fujiwara no Teika (1162 – 1241):

On a spring night
The floating bridge of dreams
Breaks off
Swirling round the mountaintop
A cloud drifts into the open sky

CtBoD chapter 21

Tue, 18 Jun 2013 08:55:40 GMT

Okay, this chapter is awfully short, I know. I decided to post it now anyway, just because I most likely won't have time to write more this week - friend visiting, and then there's Midsummer - and I don't know about next week... But hey, at least there happens something in this chapter! ;)

CtBoD, ch. 18

Sun, 19 May 2013 13:12:08 GMT

Time just keeps on speeding faster and faster. This Friday I was working on this fic and thinking that great, I've still got a week to get this chapter in order – and then I realized it was last week when I updated and not this week, and I had been planning to update this weekend, and not next, and…. gah. Time. Please stop. I can't keep up with you!

What what what? I'm way behind posting this fic here. I just realized I'd already posted ch 16 on ff.net! Pff... I just have too many places to post fics. Anyway, so... here's three chapters in one.

Fanfic: Tree of the Dead (Hikago)

Sun, 05 May 2013 20:08:02 GMT

Happy Hikago Day!

Wow, despite traveling this weekend I actually managed to get this finished on time! Proofreading once more might not have been a bad idea, but... bed is calling.

Summary:"They say this tree stands between this world and the next, that sometimes you can hear a lovely bird singing on its branches and on such a night you might be able to meet the dead..."
It is May 5th, and Hikaru finds himself in Kyoto. He would rather not be there, but in the end it might be just the right place for him this night.

CtBoD, chapter 11

Sun, 17 Mar 2013 10:23:26 GMT

I've been a bit sick for over a week, though not badly enough that I could have stayed home from work, so life's been a little tiring. Haven't really had the energy to sit by the computer after work. And when the urge to write hit me last week, I started working on a different fic (though one related to this, but more of that after the chapter).
Anyways, here' finally the next chapter...

CtBoD, chapter 7

Fri, 08 Feb 2013 20:06:30 GMT

Alright, the seventh chapter! This has been a bit insane kind of week - lot's of work, one (surprise) post-doctoral party, and tomorrow friends are coming to visit, and it's the Chinese New Year, too. We're going to watch the celebration (yes, there is some even in Finland. And no, I'm not Chinese, in the case you were wondering.) Mmm, coming to think of it, I should have posted the previous chapter (with the festival of the snake) now, really. Anyways, Happy Year of the Snake, everyone! It starts tomorrow.
